We’re incredibly excited to announce that we have launched a chrome extension that lets you see GrepPage results side-by-side with Google search results. We see this as a big step forward towards our mission of helping developers get instant answers to their questions.

Searching for snippets is changing
Over the past several years, the standard for developer productivity tools has evolved. Today’s developers expect a seamless development experience with their tools. These things aren’t just what individual developers want, they’re pillars of good engineering culture that help companies thrive.
We’ve been surprised to see how often developers store snippets ineffectively across several sources or simply not at all causing them to waste time hunting around for past solutions, or repeatedly search the web. Consider the time it takes to find the correct search result, comprehend the results in the page only to find an answer at the bottom or hidden somewhere in walls of text.
If somebody has already solved a problem and written the solution for it in their notes, you should be able to quickly search for those solutions without having to open several links and read a lot of text. The standards for people developer productivity tools have changed, and we’re building GrepPage to help support the new way of the world.
What’s next
We designed a simple search experience that makes it straightforward (and hopefully even a little enjoyable) to do programming related Google searches. Here’s what’s next for us in the pipeline:
- Authentication: Give you the ability to search your private snippets from the extension
- More Control: We will provide a dashboard for you to tweak config parameters like number of search results to display, query operators, etc.
